Yukon Infrastructure Funds

Check out our Newsroom for current events and news releases

A great deal of infrastructure investment is taking place in Yukon. Through a diverse set of funds, the territorial and federal governments are strengthening Yukon's roads, energy systems, water supply, waste management, recreational structures, transportation systems and more.

Federal infrastructure funds are administered by Yukon Government's Department of Community Services. Oversight is provided by inter-governmental committees which in the case of MRIF, Gas Tax Fund and the Building Canada Fund, includes representation from the Council of Yukon First Nations and/or the Association of Yukon Communities.

A list of projects has been prepared which shows fund activity across Yukon.

Each fund has unique purposes and requirements. The links below will take you to more detailed descriptions.

Building Canada Funding (also known as Provincial-Territorial Base Funding) will provide $183 M in infrastructure funding over seven years - more than $26 million a year - for infrastructure related to drinking water, wastewater, roads, solid waste management and green energy. Together with Yukon's 25% contribution, the total investment will be $243 million.
