New Building Canada Fund

The New Building Canada Fund (NBCF) will result in an investment in Yukon infrastructure of approximately $342 million over ten years. As with the original Building Canada Fund, Canada will pay 75% and the Yukon government will pay 25%.

The New Building Canada Fund will be divided into two components:

Canada Share (75%)  Yukon Share (25%)  Total
1. National & Regional
Projects (NRP) (90%)
 $230,925,755  $76,975,252  $307,901,007
2. Small Communities
Fund (SCF) (10%)
 $25,658,417  $8,552,806  $34,211,233
 Total  $256,584,172  $85,528,058  $342,112,230

The NRP and SCF will both cover the same types of projects, but have different application processes. NRP will cover larger projects or project bundles. The SCF will cover smaller projects with a quicker approvals process.

Yukon Infrastructure Plan

The five-year Yukon Infrastructure Plan (YIP) is a tool to use in capital planning and not as a comprehensive list of projects to be carried out over a five-year period. It will help identify projects to be submitted to Yukon and Canada for review and approval for funding by the New Building Canada Fund (NBCF).
