Infrastructure Funds

Old Building Canada Fund

Between 2007 and 2016, over $265 million will have been committed by the federal and territorial governments through the Building Canada Fund for core infrastructure in Yukon. In all, $182.9 million of the funding is coming directly from Canada and the Yukon government has committed $57.6 million, with other partners contributing $24.9 million.

In Yukon, the Building Canada Fund has been used to address both territorial priorities and local objectives for municipalities and First Nations. It has been used to build key infrastructure, in particular, those projects that address drinking water and wastewater. It has also been used for other infrastructure priorities such as solid waste management, green infrastructure, bridges and roads.
